DESCRIPTION:On February 22\, 2022\, the City of St. Albans proclaimed February 22 as Dementia Friendly Day and reaffirmed the City’s commitment to being a dementia-friendly community—one that understands the needs of residents living with dementia and works to support independence for as long as possible. \nIn recognition of that commitment\, residents are encouraged to support Dementia Friendly St. Albans on February 21\, 2026 by visiting participating local businesses. According to the event flyer\, 22% of all profits will be donated to help further the important and impactful work of Dementia Friendly St. Albans. \nParticipating businesses on February 21 include: \n\n\nIn Stitches \n\n\nLou Wendell Marine Sales \n\n\nThe Café \n\n\nCrafts & Coal (Premium Hand-Dipped Ice Cream) \n\n\nShuckers \n\n\nThe Palliative Care Center \n\n\nColonial Interiors\, Inc. \n\n\nVillage Sampler \n\n\nFlowers on Olde Main \n\n\nMartin & Ritz Accounting \n\n\nKanawha Terrace IGA \n\n\nThe Tap \n\n\nBammy’s Chili Dogs \n\n\nMendez Pro Auto Detailing \n\n\nHerdliners Barber Shop \n\n\nTip: Check with each participating business directly for any Dementia Friendly Day specials they may be offering in addition to the donation.
