The City of St. Albans has officially dedicated the corner of Sixth Avenue and Park Street as “Patty Swango Parade Corner”, honoring longtime volunteer and parade organizer Patty Swango — affectionately known in the community as “The Parade Lady.”
For many years, Patty has been central in organizing city parades, including Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and the beloved Christmas Parade. Her behind-the-scenes work has helped bring joy and tradition to generations of St. Albans residents.
The newly named corner, located at the traditional lineup point for city parades, serves as a permanent tribute to her dedication and service.
The City of St. Albans thanks Patty Swango for her continued commitment to our community and its celebrations.
