St. Albans Historical Society Meeting – Amandaville Junior Grays

Discover the inspiring story of the Amandaville Junior Grays baseball team at the St. Albans Historical Society meeting on February 12th at 2 pm!

Meet three of the players, Don Epps, Sonny Smith, and Ralph Dudley, and hear about their experiences playing baseball in a challenging time as black youths in the 1950s. Despite their obstacles, they rose to the top and even helped resurrect the baseball program at West Virginia State College.
