The City of St. Albans and the Municipal Utilities Commission would like to inform residents and visitors that construction is now underway on a major water infrastructure improvement project in the City Park area.
As part of this project, crews are actively installing a new waterline from City Park, down Observatory Drive, and extending to Kanawha Terrace in front of St. Albans High School. This work will take place in multiple phases over the coming months and will directly impact traffic and parking on Observatory Drive and City Park Road.
What to Expect:
- Traffic Delays & Lane Closures: There will be intermittent road closures, lane restrictions, and construction activity during daylight hours.
- Limited Access: Observatory Drive will be restricted to local traffic only. Non-essential through traffic should avoid this area whenever possible.
- Changing Conditions: Traffic patterns may shift without notice. Please drive cautiously, be alert for crews and signage, and allow additional travel time.
The City and MUC crews will make every effort to minimize disruptions and maintain access for residents. Your patience and understanding during this time are greatly appreciated as we work toward long-term improvements in water service and reliability for our community.
