The city has a lot moving forward this fall! We are beginning the new water tank project for the east end of town. It takes a lot of jumping through hoops, coming up with the money, and all the logistics to get this done. I want to thank the Water Development Authority for the 1.2 million dollar grant to assist in this project.
We are still jumping through the hoops for the $2.8 million dollar grant through Senator Capito’s Office for repairing and re-routing the Ram’s Horn Storm Drain system on the west end of town. A big thank-you to Senator Capito and her staff on this project! Speaking of Senator Capito’s office, we also received $150,000 for the police department; thank you again, Senator Capito!
Both of the newly turfed fields are busy with fall ball, and our children now have first-class facilities to play and practice on!
Train Day and the Fall Y’all Chili cook-off were both huge successes! Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce and all the volunteers for the hard work they put into Train Day, and thank you to the Fall Y’all committee and all their volunteers for another successful Chili Cook-Off!
The Crawl-O-Ween pub crawl will take place on October 26 on Olde Main, beginning at 7:00 and running until 11:00.
Halloween Trick or Treat in SA is October 31st from 6-8.
Christmas activities are in the works and should be great events.
The St. Albans PD and the American Legion took donations for the hurricane victims and other local organizations and delivered them to some of the areas hit hard by the Hurricane. I am very proud of our community for stepping up and helping those in need!
Let’s continue to move St. Albans forward, and may God Bless each one of you!
