St. Albans, WV – The City of St. Albans is proud to announce a special recognition for Mayor Scott James, who will be awarded the Distinguished Citizen Service Medal for his extraordinary support of the St. Albans High School Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (MCJROTC). The award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Albans High School.
Colonel Robert Ferguson, instructor of the MCJROTC program at St. Albans High School, has praised Mayor James for his unwavering commitment and advocacy for the program’s instructors and cadets. “Mayor James’ dedication has not only enhanced our ability to cultivate future leaders but has also made a direct and positive impact on the lives of our students,” said Colonel Ferguson.
The JROTC program at St. Albans High School has benefited significantly from the support of the City and Mayor James to advance its mission. This commitment reflects the City’s broader goal to foster leadership and life skills among its young residents.
