ST. ALBANS WV – Dementia Friendly St. Albans is excited to announce that it recently received a $1500 donation from LM Communications radio stations Rock 105 and 100.9 The Mix. The Mix 100.9 and Rock 105 recently partnered with DFSA and the City of St. Albans to host the 1st Annual Mountaineer Main Street WVU Football Kick-off event on Olde Main Plaza in St Albans and chose DFSA as well as The Alzheimers Association as their charities of choice. The event was a great success, resulting in a generous donation of $1500 presented to DFSA.
This donation will be put to great use by the DFSA Committee, which is dedicated to making St Albans a dementia-friendly community. The Committee plans to use the money to fund its many upcoming initiatives, including its new education and awareness program. This program will provide training on how to recognize and respond to the signs of dementia and make St Albans a more dementia-friendly community for those living with the condition and their families.
The Dementia Friendly St. Albans Committee would like to thank LM Communications Representative Jill Wheeler and all our community members who made this a successful event for the City of St. Albans. We are truly blessed to have such tremendous support from our businesses and the community of St Albans.
