ST. ALBANS, WV – In celebration of the 12th Annual National Kids to Parks Day, Mayor Scott James and the St. Albans Parks & Recreation Department have proclaimed May 21 Kids to Parks Day in St. Albans.
“We are excited to celebrate Kids to Parks Day here in St. Albans. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and explore all that our parks have to offer. I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the day!” Mayor James said.
Organized by National Park Trust, Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May. The day connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors.
The St. Albans Parks & Recreation has events scheduled throughout May to celebrate Kids to Parks Day, including the Annual Spring Fling at Roadside Park on May 14 and the End of School Summer Kick-Off Pool Party scheduled for May 27 at City Park Pool.
