St. Albans Community: Candidates and Concerns - Meet the Candidates Event - March 22pm - 7pm

St. Albans Chamber of Commerce to Host Meet the Candidates Style Event

ST. ALBANS, WV – The St. Albans Chamber of Commerce, along with 96.9 FM WWSA and the Alban Arts Academy, are excited to announce their “St. Albans Community: Candidates and Concerns,” a unique opportunity for the residents of St. Albans to engage with the candidates running for Mayor, Council at Large, and City Council seats in the upcoming election. The “St. Albans Community: Candidates and Concerns” meet the candidates style event is scheduled for March 22, 2024, at 7:00 PM and will be held at the Alban Arts Academy, located at 2121 Kanawha Terrace, St. Albans.

This non-partisan event is designed to foster a positive and informative atmosphere where candidates can share their visions, hopes, and plans for the future of St. Albans. Unlike traditional debates, this gathering will focus solely on the positive messages each candidate wishes to convey to the community, without room for negativity or criticism of opponents or past administrations.

The ” St. Albans Community: Candidates and Concerns ” event is open to all community members, encouraging a broad and inclusive audience to attend and listen to what the candidates have to say. It represents a pivotal moment for the electorate to learn directly from those seeking office, aiding in making informed decisions at the ballot box.

The evening will kick off with live on-air coverage by 96.9 WWSA Radio. Former St. Albans Mayor and renowned broadcaster Dick Callaway will engage with attendees, capturing their hopes and concerns for St. Albans, setting the stage for a night of community-oriented discussion.

Each of the 25 candidates will be allotted a set amount of time on stage to present their message to the community. While the exact duration for each speech is yet to be finalized, it is anticipated that times will range from 3-5 minutes, with mayoral candidates receiving slightly more time to outline their comprehensive visions for the city.

Due to the number of candidates and the event format, there will be no question-and-answer session. However, the Chamber encourages community members to reach out to candidates directly with any questions or concerns they may have following the event.

The St. Albans Chamber of Commerce looks forward to welcoming the community to this informative event, aiming to enhance the democratic process through open dialogue and direct engagement with the candidates.
