St. Albans Nitro Labor Day Fireworks Spectacular Set for September 3.

ST. ALBANS, WV – July 26, 2023 – The Cities of St. Albans and Nitro are delighted to announce their upcoming collaborative event, the grand Labor Day Fireworks show, set to dazzle attendees on Sunday, September 3 at 9:30 pm. In a union reinforcing community spirit, the towns will light up the night skies above the Kanawha River, bringing an unforgettable spectacle to life.

Last year’s event saw an impressive turnout, as people from all walks of life congregated on both sides of the Kanawha River to share in the Labor Day festivities. This year promises even more excitement.

“The combined efforts of St. Albans and Nitro have always led to something truly spectacular, and this year is no exception,” said St. Albans Mayor Scott James. “This is an opportunity for us to not just celebrate Labor Day but also to strengthen our bonds as neighbors and communities.”

Building on the success of the previous years, the Dick Henderson Bridge will once again be closed to vehicles from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm, becoming a pedestrian-only zone to provide an unhindered view of the magnificent fireworks display.

The St. Albans Nitro Labor Day Fireworks will be launched at 9:30 pm from Roadside Park in St. Albans. This strategic location allows spectators from both cities to enjoy optimal viewing from various riverfront vantage points.   The lower portion of Roadside Park will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic during this time.

Nitro Mayor Dave Casebolt furthered this sentiment by stating, “The collaboration between Nitro and St. Albans embodies the spirit of community, unity, and celebration. I encourage everyone to come out, bring your family, friends, and don’t forget your lawn chairs. Together, let’s make this night unforgettable.”

Keep an eye on our official website and Facebook page for further details regarding road closures, parking information, and other updates.

Mark your calendars now and join us for a Labor Day celebration that promises to be an exciting evening for all!
