I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Holiday season. Now that we are in the New Year, there is plenty going on with the City. We have signed a contract with Alpha Technologies to start laying the trunk line for fiber in SA. They have begun this in the middle mile between Spring Hill and SA. Once the trunkline is completed, then branching off to residents will occur. This will happen in phases, so be patient. Exciting news for our community!
SA is in the process of buying Kirk Field from CSX, and this will allow us to find funding to turf Kirk and the two fields at City Park. The YakFest committee has started planning for the 2024 YakFest, and it will be the biggest to date!
Also, the Pub Crawl for St. Patrick’s Day is preparing for the Crawl-O-Green; more details to come. The Legislature is in session, so follow my Mayor Scott James Facebook page for updates—and notices if we need you to call our legislators on any issues.
