Mayor's State of the City Address

State of the City of St. Albans – May 2025

Hopefully, most of the winter weather is over (knock on wood), Lol! As spring and summer approach, more and more activities are going to take place in SA. Parks and Rec will be having many activities and much more. On May 2nd, there will be a Pub Crawl to raise money for Alzheimer’s Association. Also, in May the first two Saturday Nights on Olde Main will take place on the 24th and 31st. These will start at 6:00 p.m. with music being played at the Joe Dobbs Plaza on Olde Main. There will be food trucks and at dark a movie will be shown at the end of Olde Main. We are partnering with WQBE who will set up the big movie screen that the movie will be shown on! For a full list of events and activities, you can go to the city website: stalbanswv.com.

The Caboose that we are bringing in at the historic train depot, will hopefully bring more folks to our community. I am very excited for this area and the potential development there. Fourth and Fifth Ave., from 6th St. to 2nd St., is now on the National Historical Registry which opens it up for tax incentives for people who develop in that area. SA is on the move! There is also more exciting news but cannot disclose anything at this time!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter with family celebrating the Rise of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! God Bless each and every one of you and may God Bless the great city of St. Albans!
