St. Albans Mayor Scott James was joined by Chapman Technical Group, members of City Council, and St. Albans Chamber of Commerce members to commemorate the town’s rich history and officially open the town square, inviting the community to enjoy this new outdoor space.
“This is an exciting day for Saint Albans,” said Mayor Scott James. “We’re proud to have a town square that celebrates our rich history and provides a gathering place for our community.”
The new town square is located in the heart of downtown Saint Albans and includes a pavilion, historical markers highlighting the town’s rich history, and plenty of outdoor seating. The new town square has already played host to Open Mic Nights, drawing local musicians and crowds to enjoy live music in a beautiful downtown historical setting.
“This is a great addition to the City of St. Albans. We’re glad to be a part of it,” says Joe Bird of Chapman Technical Group. Also a local musician, Bird has already been joining fellow local musical talent in evening jam sessions on the new plaza and says it’s nice to see the community gathering and using the space.
“Main Street continues to grow,” says Mayor James, and having more outdoor gathering places like the town square will only add to the vibrancy of downtown.
The new town square on Main Street provides a beautiful gathering place for our community and is an excellent asset for businesses and residents alike.
“The St. Albans Chamber is always excited to partner with the City of Saint Albans on projects that build commerce and community in our town,” says Chamber Communications Director Deb Austin Brown.
