The heat is cranking, the pools are busy, and St. Albans has a lot going on! People that have vegetable gardens have told me that the gardens are thriving; love me some home grown tomatoes. There are several events coming up on Olde Main, starting with Saturday Night on Olde Main on July 26 th . Top Gun will be showing at dark, with music being played beginning at 6:30, performed by some of our local musicians. The last Saturday Night on Olde Main will be August 2nd .
On August 8 th , the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Pub Crawl to raise money. Then on August 23 rd , Classic 100.9 will be putting on Mountaineer Main Street. Our combined fireworks with Nitro, will take place on August 31 st and the evening before at Roadside Park, the Esquires will be performing! So, mark your calendars and come enjoy the festivities!
Our city departments have been very busy doing what they do, the only problem is that we are shorthanded. Hard to find people that want to work!
Our Building Department has been very busy with property maintenance issues, and we tore down two more dilapidated structures. With those being torn down, our list is down to 4 and we are working on them. The new water tank project in City Park is moving right along and should be completed by the end of the year, hopefully before.
