2nd Annual St. Albans First Responder Disability Awareness Event

The City of St. Albans, Fire Department, and Police Department have partnered with the St. Albans OnPurpose Project to provide an evening of fun and education for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers.

The 2nd Annual First Responder Disability Awareness Event will be held on August 5th from 6-8 pm at the Loop in St. Albans. This free event will allow people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers to interact with first responders in a relaxed, informal setting.

The goal of this event is two-fold; to increase communication and decrease the possibility of negative encounters in the event of emergencies. This event will provide responders with an avenue to build relationships and trust within the community.
