I want to start out by giving a shout-out for the great job that our Public Works did during the snow that we had in January. There were crews out around the clock for 5 days, making sure that the roads were as safe and clear as possible. Even though French Creek Freddie and Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early Spring, the upcoming weather reports do not agree. Please remember to slow down during bad weather. The Parks and Rec crew also assisted in snow removal, working together for the betterment of our community!
The Building Department just got notified that we will receive $182,000 for the second round of grants from the DEP to get more dilapidated structures torn down! We received $540,000 in the first round of these grants. Since taking office July 1, 2017, there have been 43 structures taken down and this latest grant should clear our list of dilapidated structures! Great job by Marshall Chaney and the Building Department!
The Crawl-O-Green Pub Crawl is scheduled for Friday, March 8, from 7 pm until 11 pm. Should draw a great crowd to SA! As the weather breaks, there will be more outdoor activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
Great news on the 2023 annual Police report; crime was down in every category! Marc Gilbert and the entire staff of the police department continue to do a great job! We cannot always publicize all that goes on, but I will say that the SAPD has made some major busts recently and will continue to do so. If you want to be a punk criminal in St. Albans, be prepared to be arrested!
