Things are really busy in St. Albans this month. There are many St. Albans Parks & Recreation events, which you can find on their Facebook page or on the city website (stalbanswv.com). St. albans City Park Pool will soon be open and YakFest is upon us! I would like to welcome everyone that attends YakFest this year, and I hope that you are prepared to have a great time!
YakFest begins Friday, June 17th at 4:00 and then on Saturday, June 18th beginning at 2:00. Music from beginning to end with Davisson Brothers as our headliners Friday night and Cody Clayton Eagle on Saturday night. You can find the entire music line-up and more at yakfestwv.com. The DEP’s fish tank is back this year after missing last year due to COVID. New this year is FIREWORKS Saturday night! With 10,000 plus folks attending YakFest, it is a great economic boost to St. Albans. Each year 3-5 businesses in St. Albans have record weekends because they leave their doors open or participate in YakFest as a vendor.
The Tour de Coal is Saturday, June 18th beginning at Meadowood Park and ends up at Gateway Shopping Center. The Tour De Coal is now the largest flatwater kayaking event in the entire country and brings in around 2,000 kayakers to our great community. Thank you Coal River Group and all of the volunteers!
Businesses continue to open up in SA. Welcome Pet Supplies Plus, Riley’s Tools, and Dudley’s Associates Thrift Store as 3 new businesses that have opened recently. Thank you for choosing the great City of St. Albans as your home!
