St. Albans Announces Exciting Lineup for Yak Fest 2024, Featured as One of the Top Summer Events in West Virginia by AAA World Magazine

State of the City of St. Albans – June 2024

I want to start this newsletter by saying thank you to the voters of St. Albans for having confidence in me and for reelecting me for a third term as Mayor of our great city! The size of our victory is a mandate to keep moving this city forward, and that is what I will do. I am very humbled and honored to be mayor of the town I love so much!

Summer is approaching, and many activities are scheduled for St. Albans. YakFest is June 14th and 15th on Olde Main and is going to be a great time for all! The music line-up is complete, with Fletchers Grove as our headliner for Friday night and Bucky Covington for Saturday night. On June 15th there will be about 2000 kayakers navigating the Coal River in what is now considered the largest flatwater kayaking event in the country: The Tour De Coal! A huge shout out to the Coal River Group for this event as well as for all the work they do on the entire Coal River System. You can get more information on all the events by going to the city website.

I turned 65 years of age on May 17th and feel very blessed for being healthy and for my family. I truly believe that the best is yet to come, and I am looking forward to the future! God bless each of you, and God bless the great City of St. Albans!
