April was a very busy month in St. Albans! The storm that hit on April 2nd caused a lot of damage to our city and to many homes in SA. I want to start by giving praise to our city workers, AEP employees, and the contracted workers from out of state for their hard work and dedication to getting our city cleaned up and the power restored! I also want to thank our citizens for helping each other out; that is what we do! As I am writing this newsletter column, our guys are still cleaning up, so please be patient. If we have missed someone, call the city garage at 304/722-4259 and then option 4 and let us know.
I would like to thank the SA chamber of Commerce for putting on the Meet the Candidates, as well as WWSA and Alban Arts Academy for making this event very successful. Approximately 200 people were in attendance!
The Take a Walk on the Wildside event took place on April 13th at City Park and was a huge success! Thank you to Debbie Keener, the park employees, and all the volunteers who made this event great!
Please vote for the fire levy that has been part of SA since the 1950’s. It is vital to keep our fire department a full-time department. TAXES WILL NOT GO UP; THEY WILL STAY THE SAME AS IT HAS BEEN! Early voting starts May 1 at City Hall, and Election Day is May 14! May God Bless each of you and the Great City of St. Albans!
