A lot has been happening in St. Albans lately! We are moving forward with the new water tank project for the east end of town. The softball fields at City Park and Kirk Stadium have been turfed! This project was long overdue.
There have been two car shows on Olde Main in the last month and a half—both very well attended.
The ribbon cutting for the StoryWalk project at City Park was a great success with a great turnout! Thank you to Debbie Keener, the Parks staff, and all the donors for bringing this project to light. Also, a big thank you to the Library for making this happen.
Parks and Rec continues to have events for people of all ages. City Park’s Haunted Trail will be on the weekends: October 11-12 and 18-19. On September 13, a Jimmy Buffett Tribute at Roadside Park was a wonderful show. Train Day on September 21, sponsored by the Saint Albans Chamber of Commerce, was once again a successful event with free train rides on the Hoppy Shores Train, free train whistles for kids, and free Train Day stickers for adults.
Fall Y’all Chili Cookoff is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, so mark your calendar. This event is always a good time!
The Saint Albans Crawl-O-Ween Pub Crawl is scheduled for October 26 at 7:00 PM on Olde Main.
The Alban Theatre continues to put on great performances for people of all ages! The House on Haunted Hill will be November 1-10.
We are always having events in town for our citizens and visitors. If it is happening outdoors, it is happening in Saint Albans! God bless you and our great town!
